Andrew Dustin Weather passed peacefully at home, due to complications from pancreatic cancer, April 20, 2012, surrounded by his beloved family and closest friends. Andrew was loved and respected by everyone that knew him. Andrew was born in Las Vegas, Nov. 4, 1961 and grew up in Rochester, N.Y. He graduated from UNLV in 1983 with a degree in hotel administration. Andrew was a recognized gaming/technology expert, and during his 30-year career he worked for many of the most successful gaming companies in the world, Wynn Resorts, Boyd Gaming, Mirage Resorts and Station Casinos. Since 2007, he had his own successful consulting practice, Andrew Weather & Associates. Most recently, he was the director of customer service for NEWave, Inc. Andrew was a lifelong Mouseketeer. He loved all things Disney and he took great pleasure in taking friends and family to Disneyland and planning the entire itinerary. He loved to take his parents to the Olive Garden. He loved to go to the Capital Grill just to have their fabulous lobster mac and cheese. Andrew just loved life and we all loved living it with him. He was also a passionate UNLV football fan and supporter and, was especially proud of his godson, Nolan Kohorst, sophomore kicker for the UNLV football team. True to his passion, in lieu of flowers, Andrew requested that donations be made in his name to the UNLV Football Foundation, 4505 Maryland Parkway, Box 450010, Las Vegas, NV 89154-0010. Andrew will be deeply missed by everyone that ever knew him. We all loved his "unusual" sense of humor, his infectious laugh and his compulsive idiosyncrasies. Andrew was truly the best friend you could have and he was fiercely loyal to his friends and family. Andrew is survived by his mother and father, Mary Ann and Don Weather; his sister, Andrea; his cat, Buttercup; and hundreds, if not thousands, of friends, acquaintances and colleagues. There will be a celebration of Andrew's life at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 19, at Green Valley Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1799 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson. "Andrew, you took care of all of us during your brief time here on Earth and we promise to take care of each other now that you are gone. Godspeed, Andrew. We will miss you forever and until we see you again."
