Beatrice J. Zaring

Beatrice J. Zaring, 94, passed away June 25, 2013, in Las Vegas. Bea was born July 26, 1918, in Perth Amboy, N.J. Bea was educated in the Perth Amboy school system and went on to attend Ohio State University before having to come back home upon the death of her mother to help support the family. She worked for a short time in New Jersey before relocating to California and eventually finding her way to Las Vegas in 1951. Bea became the paymaster at Wilbur Clark's Desert Inn in 1952 and held this position until her retirement in 1984. Bea married Robert A. Zaring in 1959; this was truly a story book marriage. It is often said that behind every good and successful man is a good woman. Bea was not a good woman, she was a great woman who supported, encouraged and provided the catalyst for Robert's successful real estate career. It was a love story that lasted 53 years. Bea was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Henrietta Schlesinger; brothers, Joseph and Ralph; and sister, Silvia Karp. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert; and sisters, Claire Malone, Evelyn Tamarin and Phyllis Wittenberg. Bea is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Bea will be sadly missed by all her family. "Farewell for now, Nipper; rest in peace." Services will be private.
