With hearts full of love and gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Benita Reynosa, 91, who left this world peacefully at her home in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Monday, March 9, 2026. Born on February 25, 1935, in Seligman, Arizona, to Clemente and Rosa Laboto Griego. Benita grew up surrounded by the love of her parents and her sisters - Mary Alice and Olympia.
Benita began her working life in her father’s restaurant, the beloved El Sombrero, where she learned the value of hard work, community, and hospitality. On May 2, 1953, she married the love of her life, Jess (Andrew) Reynosa, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, they raised three children. They also built a family business (Reynosa Enterprise), becoming successful business owners and partners in every sense of the word.
Benita became the Matriarch of her extended family - her sister’s. Her love was a steady light, guiding her extended family through life’s challenges and celebrating its triumphs. She was the heart and soul of her family. Warm, caring, and endlessly devoted. Her sense of humor was unmatched, and her laugh was the kind that filled a room and stayed with you long after. She had a special way of making every person feel seen, taught us the importance of listening with an open heart, always showing affection and love, with her arms wide open to all she met. Her grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, and great‑great‑grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Her family will carry her memory always in the way they live, love, and care for others. She is survived by her children; Jesse Reynosa and wife Lisa, Andrew Reynosa III and wife Tobi, Susan Old and her dearly departed husband Steven Old.
Her legacy continues through her beloved and adored Grandchildren: Dommie, Heather, Erica, Jesse, Andrew IV, Brianne, Jason and Melissa
Her legacy continues through her beloved and adored Great-Grandchildren: Tanner, Payton, Bryce, Riley Isabelle, Jonah, James, Jay, Allissa, Adrian, Christopher, Tyson, Kayden, Anthony, Steven and Eliauna
Her legacy continues through her beloved and adored Great-Great-Grandchildren: Reid and Adeline
Benita’s life was defined by love, love of family, love for laughter, and love for the simple, beautiful moments that make a life full. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion that will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will forever be woven into the fabric of our lives — in every act of kindness, every shared joy, and every moment of love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
“In Loving Memory” of OUR MOTHER (a poem)
Her life was a garden, blooming bright,
A shelter in storms, a beacon of light.
She gave her love freely, without end,
A mother, a guide, and a lifelong friend.
Though she has passed beyond our sight,
Her soul remains, radiant and light.
