Beverly Joyce "BJ" Leavitt went home to Heaven, Sept. 15, 2012. She was reunited with her beloved son, Arthur; brother, Hugh; sister, Doreen; life-long friend, Dick; her parents; and many other close friends and family members. Beverly spent her childhood and early adult years in Canada, but it was Las Vegas that was her home for almost 60 years. BJ worked as a waitress/hostess in a number of the best showrooms in Las Vegas such as the Thunderbird, Stardust, the Sands, Frontier, Caesars Palace and so many more. She will be sorely missed by her sister, Barbara; son, Kerry; and daughter, Vickie. Her love for others and fun-loving spirit will live on in her granddaughters, Rebecca and Stephanie; her grandson, Travis; many nieces and nephews; and grandnieces and grandnephews. The family will be hosting a final viewing from 10 a.m.-noon, Sept. 22, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Graveside memorial services will be follow at 12:30 p.m. at Bunker Eden Vale, 1216 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Refreshments to follow at the home of Kerry and Vickie Leavitt. Everyone is invited.
