Blanche H. Cutler Christensen, 89, of Las Vegas, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016. She was born March 25, 1927, in Elwood, Utah. Blanche had a wonderful childhood in Elwood with her parents and five siblings. After graduating high school in Cokeville, Wyo., she worked two jobs in order to earn tuition to attend business college. It was after business college that Blanche met her future husband, Wendell Cameron Cutler, while working at the Naval Depot in Utah. They were married Dec. 3, 1948 and spent most of their married life raising their five children in the Las Vegas area. Service was the hallmark of Blanche's life. She faithfully served her family, community and church until her passing. Blanche served as an ordinance worker in both the St. George and Las Vegas Temples for many years. Along with her second husband, Don J. Christensen (Feb. 24, 2001), Blanche served two full-time missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in London, England and Atlanta, Ga. In her own life history, Blanche attributed her desire to serve directly to her close relationship with, and love of, the Lord. Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, Ella and Lorenzo Hunsaker; both husbands; her son Dean; and her grandson, Benjamin Cutler. She is survived by two daughters, Marsha (Roger) Thiriot, Sara (Fred) Deaver; and two sons, Michael (Janet) Cutler and Lloyd (Donna) Cutler. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 9-10: 30 a.m. Saturday, June 25, with family prayer following and service at 11 a.m., all at the LDS Church, 1001 N. Christy Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89110.
