Brenda Hirsch

Brenda Hirsch, 78, passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, in Las Vegas. She was born June 16, 1935 in Dublin, Ireland, to Florence and Henry Ross. Brenda is survived by her two sons, Sam (Gemma) and Jonathan (Juliet); her grandchildren, Elliot, Jacob and Anna; and her brother, Ivor Ross of London, England. An independent woman, she lived to the fullest. She left Ireland on her own, going to London and then Chicago to further her nursing career. She met her husband, the late Dr. Bernard Henry Hirsch in Chicago. A woman of strong faith, Judaism was a constant for her. She enjoyed Passover, making matzoh ball soup for the Seder. She was happy to see that her sons celebrated Bar Mitzvah. She worked as a nurse and card dealer. She dreamed of playing in the world series of poker, and was an avid painter. No services are scheduled.
