Calanthe was born in Red River, New Mexico. A resident for 38 years. She was a homemaker and member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Northstar chapter.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John Wayne Jr; two sons, James Edward Guesman and John Wayne Guseman III, and one daughter, Elizabeth Guesman, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Kathleen Walker and Harriet Marchek, both of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
