With hearts full of loving memories, the family of Carl D. Cassell sadly announce his passing after a brief illness. Carl was born June 19, 1936, in Newton, Kan., to Clint and Antoinette Cassell. Carl's life was full and happy. He devoted his life to his loving wife, of 61 years, Kay Cassell, and the family they built together. Along the way, he was an avid baseball fan, coach and professional scout. He enjoyed fishing, taking road trips and basking in the company of his family. Carl retired from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 1990 after a 26-year career. Carl made friends with everyone due to his personable nature, genuine interest in others and his kind heart and soul. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; and his first grandson, Chris. Carl is survived by his wife, Kay; children, Chuck (Elaine), Mick (Janell), Kathy and Greg (Gina; grandchildren, Jenna, Christina, Alexandra, Ryan, Skylar, Dillon and Madelinn; and his great-grandchildren, Jacob, Aubrey, Emma and Evan. He is also survived by his brother, Bill (Nancy); and numerous other cherished family members. Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 3, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Roman Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Burial following, at Bunkers Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road, Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Chris Cassell Memorial Baseball Scholarship Fund, c/o Nevada Public Education Foundation, 4350 S.
