Carlos Reed Taylor, 90, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully Nov. 21, 2015, at Marvel Manor Group Home. Carlos was born May 24, 1925, in Ely, to Melba and Oral Calvert Taylor. He graduated from North Sevier High School in 1944. He married Anita Rasmussen, his high school sweetheart, Aug. 4, 1944. They resided in Aurora, and were blessed with three children. After moving to Salt Lake City in 1954, Carlos began working as a truck driver. Carlos was always a hardworking, dedicated husband and father. After moving to Las Vegas in May 1963, Carlos worked for Anderson Dairy hauling milk from the dairy farms in southern Utah to Las Vegas. His first wife, Anita, passed away from a kidney illness Oct. 14, 1964. Carlos married Ardeth Bingham Aug. 3, 1966. He worked for Lake Mead Coop hauling milk from the dairy farms in southern Utah and California, to Las Vegas. He also owned his owned trucks and, eventually, his own trucking business with son, Bruce. Carlos was an active member of the Church of Latter-day Saints. He held many positions thoughout his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Taylor; son, Reed Taylor of Las Vegas; mother, Melba Taylor Stevens of Aurora, Utah; father, Oral Calvert Taylor of Aurora; brothers, Clifford Taylor of Aurora, Calvert Taylor of Payson, Utah, Arden Stevens of Canada, and Leora Stenburg of Pleasant Grove, Utah. Carlos is survived by, his wife, Ardeth Taylor; children, Karla Ann Meng, Bruce Taylor, Marilyn Kinsley of Las Vegas, and Shirlene Cordle of Missoula, Mont.; brother, Vorris Stevens; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Viewing will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Viewing again at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, with service following at 11 a.m., both at the LDS Chapel, 1101 N. Pecos Road, Las Vegas, NV 89101. Carlos will be taken to Aurora to be laid to rest next to his deceased wife, Anita, and son, Reed, where there will be a short graveside service and luncheon at the LDS Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carlos's life. The family would like to thank Marvel Manor and their incredible staff for the outstanding care and love provided to Carlos in his final days.
