CARYN YEAGER HOLLINGSWORTH Caryn Yeager Hollingsworth, age 75, a resident of Searchlight, died the afternoon of Sunday, May 15, 2011. Caryn was a longtime resident of New Orleans, and Birmingham, Ala., before returning home to Searchlight in her retirement. She was a lecturer in anthropology and archaeology at both the University of Alabama Birmingham and the College of Southern Nevada. She was the daughter of Ella Jane (Reid) and John A. Yeager of Searchlight. She is survived by sister, Bonnie Hering; and brother, John Yeager of Searchlight; sons, Danny Hollingsworth of Columbiana, Ala., Allen Hollingsworth of Sylacauga, Ala., and Jay Hollingsworth of Houston; by grandchildren, Amanda Hollingsworth Ledbetter of Sylacauga, and James and Julia Hollingsworth of Houston; great-grandson, Lawson Ledbetter of Sylacauga; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins in the Reid and Yeager families - especially nephew, Larry Hering who she specifically wanted to recognize for being helpful during the last years of her life. She is also survived by the many students who inherited her passion for archaeology and anthropology and for preserving and learning from the past. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at the Searchlight Community Center
