While in high school, Cassandra met and married her late husband Clayton Butler. Early in the marriage Cassandra's eldest son Clayton Daudi Butler "Oody" was born. While making her way through the world as a widowed mother, Cassandra graduated from beauty school and received her cosmetology and barbers' licenses. Soon after, Cassandra open her own Beauty Salon, and welcomed her sons Eric and Johance Butler. Cassandra spent many years in the beauty industry and decided it was time for a change of scenery. Cassandra started her successful 25-year casino career and became the first black female pit boss. During this time, Cassandra welcomed her daughter Nazareth "Baby" Thomas to the family and soon after celebrated the arrival of her several grandchildren Brittany, Makayla, Payton, Delylah, Clayton Jr, Caleb and Trustin. Cassandra loved spending time outside, shopping, working, traveling, and going to bingo. Cassandra Joyce Butler was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Although she was taken from this world way too soon, her loving heart will stand as a beacon of light for all of us.
