Charles Price Dimitt, of Las Vegas, lived a full life to age 79 and passed away July 1, 2013, at home surrounded by family. He was born June 30, 1934 in Lexington, Ky., to John Amos and Lillian Johnson Dimitt. His mother passed away when he was young and his father remarried Beatrice Jacobs. Charlie married Loye Brown Sept. 20, 1957, and was sealed in the St. George LDS Temple. He was a Las Vegas resident for over 50 years. He served in the U.S. Army, was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a retired dealer from Caesars Palace, he loved serving in the Las Vegas LDS Temple, and he enjoyed hiking with family and friends. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend. Charlie will be remembered most for his loyalty, honesty, and quick wit. We love him and will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Brad and Marci; granddaughter, Denise; brother, Sterling; and sister, Carol. He is survived by his beloved wife, Loye; daughter, Jana (John); son, Jared; brother, Nick (Kathleen); grandchildren, Jason (Melanie), Angela (Ryan), Amy (Mario), Alexis (Ben), Sterling, Rachel, Reece, Hayley, Jill, Edward and Isabella; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services are private.
