Chermanise Skeete, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Colon, Panama on May 8, 1933. She migrated to the United States in 1967 where she obtained her nursing degree from Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, NY. She had a robust career as a nurse for 35 years between New York, California, and Nevada.
Chermanise was a devoted and cherished member of Abundant Life Seven Day Adventist Church. She practiced, lived, and shared her strong faith in God. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family and friends. She was a shining light to all who knew her.
Chermanise was preceded in death by her husband Roy Skeete and her grandchildren Nicole Roberson and Foster Roberson.
Chermanise is survived by her children, Isidra Garcia, Bernadette Alexander, Geronimo McKenzie, Mario McKenzie, Emilio Skeete, and Michele Hansbrough, her last remaining sibling Rachel Blackman, nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a host of nieces and nephews, family in Christ, and friends.
