Christine Eleanor Mayhew

Christine Eleanor Mayhew was 35 years old and resided in Las Vegas, Nevada with her 16 year old son and 14 year old daughter. She passed from this life to the next on June 2, 2014 at approximately nine p.m., Pronouncement of death was made at St. Rose Hospital in Las Vegas. The cause was from the ongoing complication with her cardiovascular system.
Chris was born on April 21th, 1979 in Stamford, Connecticut to Walter and Susan Wasicki. Her family included two sisters Denise and Lisa in addition to step sisters, Erin, Mary and step brothers John, Trevor and Matthew.
Chris was married to Jeffrey Mayhew on November 13th 1996 in Kansas City, Kansas. Jeffrey is estranged from the family but resides in Las Vegas as well.
Chris is survived by her husband Jeffrey Leonard Mayhew, her two children Zach and Erika Mayhew. Her parents Walter Wasicki and Susan Tymon, sisters Denise Vargas, Lisa Wasicki. Step sisters Erin Goodman, Mary Gayle, and step Brothers John Tymon, Trevor Tymon and Matthew Tymon.
Chris was preceded in death by her son Trevor Anthony Mayhew who was delivered still born at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri on November 9th 1996.
Thoughout her life and even in the face of her often debilitating condition Chris was devoted to the wellbeing of her children. This quality was an attribute that she extended to others outside of her immediate family volunteering at convalescent homes reading to the elderly, fixing their hair and helping with makeup. Because of her heart problems Chris never worked much outside the home but made the home her primary job.
On Sunday June 8th from 4 to 6 p.m. at Bunker Mortuary there will be a viewing and memorial service held to remember and celebrate the life of Christine Mayhew Wasicki.
All are welcome to attend who are able. Comments, stories and writing will be shared during the memorial service. In addition there is an online obituary page hosted on the mortuary web site to facilitate expressions of condolences to the family, these will also be read during the service.
