Clarence Joseph Small was born in Bernard, Iowa. He was an air traffic controller, a Vietnam War veteran who earned the highest medal given a non-commissioned officer and was a communications specialist for 17 years.
He was preceded in death by one son, Steven Small.
Clarence is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley; two sons, Michael Small of Las Vegas and Mark Small of Anderson, S.C.; one daughter, Michele Brown of Las Vegas;two brothers, Loras of LaMotte, Iowa, and Claire of Mequoketa,Iowa;three sisters, Carmie and Avalene, both of Bernard, Iowa, and Teresa of Maquoketa.
