David Graham Newton, 88, of Las Vegas, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017. David was born Jan. 19, 1929, in Evanston, Illinois, to Earl William and Ellanor Newton. He graduated from MIT in 1954 with a degree in metallurgy and also received his master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Southern California. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, David enjoyed a long career as an aerospace engineer. He is survived by his wife, Betty Newton; sons, David Newton Jr., Darius Newton and Daniel Newton; and daughter, Naomi Newton. Celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at 4545 New Forrest Drive, Las Vegas. Burial will be at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City.
