David E. Sudweeks

November 7, 1922 — May 31, 2012

David E. Sudweeks, 89, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, of North Las Vegas, passed away May 31, 2012. David was born Nov. 7, 1922 in Moscow, Idaho and raised in Provo, Utah. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War ll and graduated from BYU after the war ended. During his high school and college years, he was on the track team, his specialty being the 100 yard dash. In his years at BYU, he turned into a life-long fan of BYU sports following every game he could, including re-watching many several times. He worked for the National Weather Service at the Nevada Test Site, retiring in 1982. After his retirement, he kept busy with his many and varied hobbies, especially enjoying fishing and camping trips with his family. He was preceded in death by his son, Dean. David is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; sons, Dale and Bruce (Sheri); and daughters, Wanda (Ron) Drake and Joanne (Allen) Lee; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be from 11 a.m.-noon, Friday, June 8, with services following, both at LDS Pelican Creek Ward, 1991 W. Washburn, North Las Vegas. Burial following at Bunkers Memory Gardens on Lone Mountain and Tenaya
