Deanne Leavitt Blazzard Dunn, 65, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 while vacationing and visiting with family in her hometown, Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was born on December 21, 1955 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Cameron Dee and Lyle (Coon) Leavitt.
She attended Las Vegas High School and Brigham Young University in her youth, and then continued her education later in life to become an HOA Manager until she retired in April 2021.
She was known for her generous and loving heart for all children, her infectious laugh, smiley eyes, and a jovial personality that lit up every room she entered. She was a foster mother to countless children for much of her adult life. She loved and advocated for every child placed in her care and did much to organize and lead the Foster Parent Association of Nevada. She also adopted three of the foster children placed in her home, and one adopted her.
Her favorite things in the world were spending time with her family, serving with her many friends in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and getting a good pedicure and/or foot massage.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Dunn; daughters Melissa McGowan (Curtis), Amanda Pilcher (Curtis), and Breanna Blazzard; sons Michael Blazzard, Cameron Blazzard, and unofficial son Chris Gardner; stepson Derek Dunn (Jenn); 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sisters Betty Salmon (Ron), Judy Booher (Kenneth), and Sheila Leavitt; and brother Richard Leavitt (Carolyn).
She was preceded in death by her parents Cameron Dee and Lyle Leavitt; sister Jean Salmon; brothers William Leavitt, and Mark Leavitt; and former spouse Dale Blazzard.
