Del Roy H. Lunt, 74, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home in Las Vegas, on Dec. 15, 2012. He was born Sept. 24, 1938 in Cedar City, Utah to Alvin and Alice Heap Lunt. He graduated from Basic High School in Henderson, in 1957. He had two daughters with his first wife, Susan Hards. In 1968, he married Doris Louise Hyde, later sealed in the Las Vegas LDS temple. He served many church callings and especially liked being a scout leader and teaching primary. Del enjoyed a long career working for the city of Las Vegas, and loved going to work every day. He loved playing guitar, traveling and wood working and made many pieces of beautiful art. Del was a happy and positive person and a friend to all. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; mother, Alice Heap; father, Alvin Lunt; brother, Rex Lunt; and niece, Brenda Bauer. He is survived by daughters, Leasa (Mike) Foust and Valerie (Tim) Clark; stepdaughter, Sandy (Jim) Wagner; brother, Joe (Connie) Lunt; sister, Marie (George) Bauer; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many close nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Leticia "Letty" Hernandez. Viewing will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Desert Sage Ward, 4201 Stewart Ave. Graveside services will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 Las Vegas Blvd. N.
