We sadly announce the passing of Dixie Davis, fondly known as Amie, on July 19, 2023. Born on January 22, 1949, Dixie brought much joy and vibrancy to those around her.
Dixie is predeceased by her loving parents, Rose Augustine and Raymond Shemp.
Dixie will be profoundly missed by her surviving family; her brothers, Richard McGregor and Dall Shemp, her daughter Coby Davis, and son-in-law Brian Everett, as well as her grandchildren Eaire Davis, Haeli Witz, Braedyn Baltutat and great grandchild Abbygail Gonzalez.
Dixie was a vibrant personality, described as headstrong, humerous, lovingly sarcastic, and utterly unique. Her life mantra, which she keenly passed onto others, was never to tolerate disrespect from anyone, a lesson that she taught with the same energy that she lived her life.
Her love for Elvis music often filled the air in her home, and she was a consistent fan of game shows on television.
Relishing the simple pleasures of life, Dixie possessed a fondness for drinks like Pepsi and coffee, and if you smell cigarettes, you know Dixie’s around. A keen player of games, especially Yahtzee, Twenty-One, Blackjack, Poker, and Cribbage, she often instigated friendly family competitions which will be fondly remembered by all.
Amongst her numerous accomplishments, the one she held dearest was her daughter, Coby Davis. Her love for her daughter and grandchildren and her dedication to their happiness will forever be her enduring legacy.
As we mourn Dixie's departure, we also celebrate the remarkable life she led, the lives she touched, and the unforgettable memories she created for her loved ones.
