Dolly Loretta Green Earl passed away of natural causes in hospice care at her home in Las Vegas, NV on February 27th, 2023.
She is survived by her children: Donald Wayne Earl, Bryan Ellis Earl, Lea Jayne Earl Calicich, Mary Elizabeth Earl, and Adla Christine Earl; her siblings: Tanya, Sandra, Linda, and
Mary Ann; Eleven grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Lori Marie Earl, her husband H. Wayne Earl; and her siblings Doyle, Donald, Marilyn, and Pat.
She was born on September 30th, 1943 in East St. Louis, Illinois, the 4th child of John L. Webster Green and Helen Leona Byrne. She married H. Wayne Earl June 15th, 1960 in Las
Vegas, a marriage that was later solemnized in the LDS temple in St. George, Utah and was blessed with 6 children. She was a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother who spent the vast majority of her time and energy throughout her life supporting her immediate and extended family in their many
endeavors. She was also active in the LDS church and in the Las Vegas community, rendering service to many people in need for many years.
Dolly graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and was a member of the National Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi. She
was the first licensed Lamaze teacher in Nevada and the owner/ founder of the Childbirth with Dignity Mother's Center and placed a special emphasis on prenatal education.
Dolly helped to found the birthing rooms (hospital rooms that felt like a home) at UMC in the 1980s. During her career, she was a Resolve Through Sharing Grief Counselor,
Coordinator and founder of the Cradle Corner at Valley Hospital, a Neonatal Advanced Life Support instructor, a UMC maternal/ child clinical instructor, and an adjunct faculty
member of the Community College of Southern Nevada. She served as a chairwoman of the Southern Nevada section of NAACOG and was voted Nurse of the Year for Education
by the March of Dimes and the City of Las Vegas in 1989. In her 35 years nursing career, Dolly taught thousands of women how to give birth naturally and with dignity.
Dolly loved gardening, sewing, baking bread, and quilting with her Relief Society Sisters. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her!
Those who would like to pay their respects are invited to the LDS chapel at 2245 S. Lindell Rd. LV, Nv 89146 on Monday, March 13th, 2023 at 09:00 a.m.
A viewing will be held before the service from 08:00 a.m. to 08:45 a.m. Her body will be laid to rest alongside her husband, infant daughter, and those of her other family members in St. George, Utah.
