Donald R. Cookson

Donald Robert Cookson, 91, of Las Vegas, passed away Feb. 17, 2012. He was born March 27, 1920, in Goshen, Ohio, and was a 67-year resident of Nevada. Donald was a machinist/mechanic for 35 years with Wells Cargo as the shop foreman. He was a member of the Operating Engineers since 1948 and was a founding member of the North Las Vegas Moose Lodge. Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Cookson. Donald is survived by his brother, John Cookson of Ohio; children, Sally Perkins, Betty (Sam) Miller, Don (Sharon) Cookson and Tom (Beth) Cookson; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Viewing will be 1:30-2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, with services following, both at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N.
