Donald Arlin Farnsworth
September 29, 1935 – August 24, 2026
Donald Arlin Farnsworth, 90, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully at home on August 24, 2026.
Don was born on September 29, 1935, in St. Thomas, Nevada, a small community that would later become submerged beneath Lake Mead following the construction of Hoover Dam. He holds the special distinction of being the last baby born in St. Thomas before the town was flooded.
Don graduated from Basic High School in 1955. In 1956, he began working at the titanium plant, beginning a long and hardworking career. In 1965, he went to work for Sears Automotive and married Linda in 1966. Don went on to became a top salesman at Sears Automotive. He proudly worked for Sears for 27 years before retiring in 1993.
After retirement, Don briefly drove a taxi for about two years. During that time, he had the opportunity to meet and give rides to many interesting people, including Mr. T from The A-Team, creating stories and memories he would carry with him.
Don enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, hunting, country music, sightseeing, and watching classic country-western movies. He especially enjoyed traveling and sightseeing with his beloved wife, Linda, making memories together along the way.
Don was a hardworking man who worked hard to provide for his family, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and great-grandfather. He will be remembered for his stories, his love of adventure, and the many memories he created with the people he loved.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, oldest son Arlin and sister Lola
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; his sisters, Darlene and Lila; his daughter, Sandy (husband Dave); his sons, David and Joel (wife Stacy); his grandchildren, Stephanie (husband Dylan), Christian, Kevin, Hailey, and Hunter; and his two great-granddaughters, Valeria and Isabella.
Don leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who loved him dearly. Though he will be deeply missed, his stories, his laughter, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Rest peacefully, Don. Your journey may be over, but your story will live on in the family and memories you leave behind.
