Donald Johnson

Donald L. Johnson, 88, of Las Vegas, passed away Aug. 26, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 4, 1929, in Ithaca, N.Y. Don moved to Las Vegas at the age of 15 and graduated from Las Vegas High School, class of 1946. He married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Fitzgerald in 1949. Don was preceded in death by his son, Donald Royal Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Fitzgerald Johnson; daughter, Judy; three grandchildren, Timothy Donald Hutchings, Kimberly Jeanne Mayo and Ashley Victoria Norman; five great-grandchildren, Alysea Mayo, Kiara Mayo, Hailey Blackburn, Arabella Blackburn and Cayden Hutchings; and sister, Joanne Clawson. Known to his many nieces, nephews and friends as "Irondog." Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at Bunker Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N., Las Vegas, NV 89101. Burial following at Bunkers Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road, Las Vegas, NV 89129. Celebration of life will follow at Giuseppe's, 6065 S. Durango Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89113.
