Donovan Lavell Dykes

Donovan Lavell Dykes was born on September 17, 1995, in Las Vegas, Nevada to the Clifton and Valerie Dykes. He departed this life on April 14, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada after a short illness. He was one of 2 siblings.

Donovan graduated from Cimarron-Memorial High School in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2013. Donovan was an avid sportsman while attending Cimarron-Memorial. He earned a 4 letterman’s jacket for football, wrestling, track, and dead weightlifting. Donovan won several state individual titles and team titles in wrestling. He also earned the title of “Cimarron-Memorial Male Athlete of The Year in 2013. After graduating from high school Donovan continued his education at University of Nevada Las Vegas where he earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and an associate’s degree in Sociology. He was currently pursuing his master’s degree in social work at the University of Denver.

Donovan was currently employed as a Developmental Specialist for the State of Nevada. Donovan was a very humble, patient, and compassionate person with big cheeks and an infectious smile that could brighten up any room or console anyone. He was able to utilize these traits in his employment at the state and in other behavioral health roles he held to influence and assist individuals and clients struggling with life challenges.

Donovan enjoyed, working out at the gym, cooking, traveling, and spending time with his family during his leisure time. He also enjoyed trying to pull pranks on his family and friends.

Donovan leaves to cherish his loving memory, his mother and father Valerie and Clifton Dykes of Las Vegas, Nevada, his sister Amber Dykes of Phoenix, Arizona, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
