DR. DORENCE BUNDREN It is with great sadness, the family of Dorence "Doug" Bundren announces his passing. Doug Bundren died July 14, 2013, at Desert Springs Hospital. He was a resident of Las Vegas since 1959. He was born May 4, 1932, in Scobey, Mont. Doug Bundren graduated from Montana State University in 1955, with a degree in education. Before pursuing his career in education, he served in the U.S. Army. He then devoted his life to make a difference in education. Doug Bundren was a teacher in Carson City. In 1959, he moved to Las Vegas to work for the Clark County School District. He graduated from Northern Arizona State University with a post-graduate degree in administration. Doug Bundren was a principal at Jim Bridger, Roy Martin and Valley High School. In 1974, he received his doctorate from USC. Dr. Bundren completed his career with the Clark County School District as the director of research and development. Doug Bundren was a hard-working man, a great provider and a dedicated father and husband. The fondest of memories from his family and friends is that he loved to share his wit and amazing sense of humor right up to the very end. Doug Bundren loved to get out of the heat and spend time at the beach and swim. His favorite hobby was playing golf with his friends. He also enjoyed watching John Wayne movies. He leaves his wife, of 51 years, Jacquelene Bundren; daughters, Christine Bundren and Michelle Walz; son-in-law, Stephen Walz; nephew, Kevin Phenix; and friends. No services are scheduled. "We will miss you, 'Old Poop!'."
