Doris Ellen Schrock, born to the late James I.Tidwell and Clara M. Smith in Stamford, Texas passed away on Monday, May 8,2006 in Tyler, Texas.
Doris grew up on farms in the rural area around Hamlin, Rule and Sagerton, Texas. She attended schools in all of those towns. She lived 23 years in Las Vegas, then 12 years in Coos Bay, Oregon before returning to live in Texas in 1996. She lived in Tyler for the last four years moving from Richardson.
Doris loved to sing. She grew up singing gospel with her siblings; she even made a country album under the label of Aldoris Records, in Nashvill, Tenn., in 1990.
She was a member of and part of the choir at Green acres Baptist Church. Doris also know as "Granma" or "G-ma" to her grandchildren, loved spending time with her family and sending greeting cards to everyone she loved across the country. Birthdays and every holiday were very important for Doris. She loved decorating and was known for her creativity. She collected photos of everyone and displayed them proudly throughout her home. She took time to collect shoes, bells, Barbie dolls, wedding dolls and Bradley collectable plates. Most importantly, she enjoyed receiving mail and phone calls from those she loved and spending time with her little dog, Gidget.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Schrock; and brother, Travis Tidwell.
Doris is survived by her loving family including her daughter, Gloria Borelli of Denton, Texas;son, Darrel Schrock of Tyler, Texas;granddaughters, Doris Nall of Corinth, Texas and Siara Schrock of Tyler; grandsons, Andrew D'Anna of Denton, Dustin and Skyler Schrock of Tyler, Justin Nall of Corinth; great-grandson, Thatcher Nall of Corinth; brother, Dan Tidwell of Oklahoma; and sisters, Vida Glover of Abilene, Texas, Patsy Blakely of Colorado, Joann Turner of Tyler and Sherryn Smith of Paradise, Texas.
Family will be receiving friends on Friday, May 12,2006 from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
at the Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 13th,2006
