Edward Scheels

EDWARD SCHEELS Ed Scheels, of Las Vegas, died Feb. 9, 2014. He was born Aug. 6, 1931, in New York, the youngest of 11 children, to parents, Matthew and Catherine. He served in the U.S. Navy, February 1950-November 1953, aboard the USS New Jersey BB-62 in Korea, Guantanamo Bay, United Kingdom (Queen's coronation) and the Mediterranean. He was also employed by IBM and Timet. During Ed's 82 years, he enjoyed the Navy, camping, swap meets and mostly, his grandchildren. Ed is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Mark of Great Falls, Mont. and Gary of Las Vegas; sisters, Margie Raab and Florence Hunt of New York; grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah of Great Falls and Khrystal of Las Vegas.
