Elmer M. Oliver was born in Muncie, Kansas. He moved to Las Vegas with his family in 1975 and retired from the Mirage Hotel in 1996, where he was assistant chief engineer.
Elmer served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the 7th infantry Division, Charlie Company. He fought in combat at Heartbreak Ridge and he received two Battle Stars and a Bronze Star.
Elmer was preceded in death by his wife Maxine. He is surived by his two brothers, Bob Oliver of Crowley, Texas and Dick Oliver of Las Vegas; two daughters, Billie Navel of Las Vegas and Micki Masile of Mission, Kansas; two sons, Mark Oliver and John Oliver, both of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon-4:30 p.m. Sunday, January 8th,2006 . Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 9th, both at Bunkers Mortuary
