Elmer Olson, born in Chicago, IL on July 31, 1934, passed away peacefully in Las Vegas, NV on May 17, 2021. Elmer was a member of the Movie Projectionist Union, Local 110 from 1969 until he retired in September 1996. He dedicated 27 years of service to the Local 110. Some of the companies he worked for include; Mid Central News Reels, 2418 Theatre Corp, Bel-Air, Sky Hi Amusement, Royal Theatre, Plitt Great States, Golf Mill Theatre, Newberry Theatre, Studio Starlight Cinema, and Edens Theatre. Elmer loved the film industry but outside of his career, he loved golfing. Some of his other things he loved was playing video Keno at Gold Coast Casino and watching his beloved Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs.
His loving wife, Lesley, predeceases Elmer. He is survived by his sisters, Eleanor Knight and Elizabeth (Betty) Dymek (Patrick), his two daughters Shelly Webb (Bret) of Macedonia, IL and Kristin Everly (John) of Tumtum, WA, two step-children Jason Erkes of Chicago, IL and Lisa Bowman (Bill) of Atlanta, GA. Grandchildren; Brittany Laws (Jon) of McLeansboro, IL, Jake & Wade Everly of Tumtum, WA and a host of nieces & nephews and great-nieces & great-nephews.
