Estela Reeger, born on February 18, 1933, in Manila Philippines, to parents Ignacio and Dolores Tan, passed away peacefully in San Diego, CA, on June 5, 2025, at the age of 92. Estela was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, auntie, daughter, and friend. Her life was marked by a gentle spirit and an unending love for her family.
She met and married her husband, Earle Reeger, while he was in the Navy and stationed at Subic Bay Naval Base, Philippines. They courted for 3 years before marrying on December 5, 1953. They went on to have 3 children, James, Christine, and Joanne.
Estela’s life was a testament to her deep Catholic faith, her belief in God’s love, and her devotion to her family. Known for her quiet strength, she faced life’s challenges with grace and resilience, remaining the pillar of support for those around her.
Estela enjoyed playing Bingo, watching her soap operas and old cowboy movies, and loving her great grandchildren. She expressed her vibrant personality through cheetah print sweaters and bright red lipstick.
A devoted wife, Estela, is now reunited with her beloved husband Earle, to whom she was married 61 years. Together they built a life filled with cherished memories, love, and laughter.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Earle, her daughter, Joanne, son-in law, Curtis, and her sisters and brothers; Basilia, Aurora (Irene), Corazon, Gloria, Antonio, and Rogelio.
Estela’s legacy lives on through her surviving family. She is survived by her children, James, her daughter in law, Charlene, and Christine, and her remaining sisters, Dolores (Puring), Catalina (Lina), and Estrella (Ester). Along with her 9 grandchildren (Lori, Michelle, Jennifer, Nicholas, Jonathan, Stephen, Jessica, Jordan, James) and their spouses, and her 17 great grandchildren.
A funeral service to celebrate Estela’s life will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Bunkers Eden Vale Mortuary in Las Vegas, NV. The following day on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, Estela will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Earle, at Southern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
