Ethel S. Salovich, 91, of Las Vegas, passed away Feb. 17, 2012. She was born, one of five children, Oct. 26, 1920, to Katie and Kurtis Banning, in Dillon, Mont., and was a 45-year resident of Nevada. Ethel, was loved by everyone who met her. Ethel met George Salovich New Year's Eve 1960 in Butte, Mont., and they were married St. Patrick's Day, three months later. Ethel had two children, Ruth Anderson (John), of Dillon, and Wayne Turner (Sheri) of Whitehall, Mont. Through marriage she had four stepchildren, Sandy Rydell, George Salovich, Judy Sheldon, and Jeanne Salovich. She had numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Samantha Weitzel, her only grandchild living in Vegas, will miss her terribly. Ethel worked 19 years at Sunrise Hospital Admitting Dept. and loved playing bingo. After retirement, she played every day even though she suffered blindness from macular degeneration. She will be missed by her loving husband, George; her family; and all her wonderful bingo buddies. No services are scheduled.
