Frances Jewel
Hollis
Jan 6, 1929 — Sep 13, 2026
Frances J. Hollis, 97 passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026. Born on January 6, 1929, Fran was raised with many loving cousins in Arkansas. She attended school in Winchester Arkansas where she was an excellent student. She married her high school sweetheart Charles W. Hollis right after graduation.
Charles enlisted in the United States Army and was deployed to post war Austria. Fran joined him on this assignment, and the couple enjoyed their experiences both in Austria as well as traveling Europe very much.
Returning to the United States the couple had a son, Ronald D. Hollis. After his discharge the family moved to Illinois so Charles could begin a career as a television engineer. While there the family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and moved to Las Vegas for Charles to begin a new job at KLVX-TV (Channel 10) where he would work for many years until his retirement.
Fran brought Southern traditions to the household including homemade biscuits and a love of gospel music. She tried hard to always be a good neighbor and enjoyed close relationships with neighborhood friends.
She was always soft spoken and very private but faithfully served in LDS Church assignments including the Bishops Storehouse and temple assignments.
Fran always supported her husband and her son both in their careers and church assignments. She was always proud of each of her grandchildren and their success in life.
She is survived by her son Ronald D. Hollis of Las Vegas along with five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
Services are private. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Davis Memorial Park in Las Vegas.
Rest in peace Grandmommy We will miss you.
