Francis Frei Connell

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Francis Connell (87). Francis passed away in her home in Las Vegas, NV surrounded by family on May 19, 2023.

She was born on March 3, 1936 in Santa Clara, Utah to Cecil and Irene (Seegmiller) Frei. She was the second of five children. Her father wanted a boy so badly that he called her son until her brother finally came along. In 1952 she married the love of her life, Guy Connell. They were happily married for 66 years, having four children - Micki, Brandy, Kris and Tammy, 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. When her youngest was 5 years old she and Guy opened C&S Body and Fender Shop. Together they ran their business for over 50 years, which became a staple in the community.

Francis loved reading and baked the best sugar cookies ever. She was a hunter’s wife (chief cook and bottle wash) even bagging a few animals herself. She will be missed dearly by her loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Guy; her sisters Yvonne Neilson, Jeanette and baby brother; her daughter Kristine, son Brandon, son-in-law Kevin Phenix and three grandbabies. She is survived by her brother John Frei (Karen), daughters Micki Dunkerley (son-in-law, Don) and Tammy Phenix. Grandchildren: Jason, Jennifer, BriAnne and Dustin Dunkerley; Nicole and Jody Connell; Krysta, Gavin, Trevor and Mary Phenix; and all of her great and great-great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Services will be private. A Celebration of Life will be on June 17, 2023 from 10:00am – 1:00pm at Bob Price Recreational Center, 2050 Bonnie Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89156.
