Francis J. Niebauer

Francis J. Niebauer, 66, a retired Sr. CAD technician, of Las Vegas, passed away May 19, 2011. He was born July 27, 1944, in Fairview, Pa., where he was raised, and was a 26-year resident of Nevada. He attended Gannon University in Erie, Pa., where he received his BS in electrical engineering. Francis was happily married to Lynne Bigelow-Niebauer for 38 years. He was a very devoted husband and father. He worked for the Las Vegas Valley Water District for several years. He is a member of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus and he volunteered at several different charities and Valley Hospital Outpatient Surgery Center. Francis was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Julia Niebauer; brother, Oscar Niebauer; and son, Samuel Dean Niebauer. Francis is survived by his wife, Lynne Niebauer; sons, Benjamin Niebauer and his wife, Amber and Luke Niebauer; five brothers, Ralph, Tom, Donald, Robert and Bernard Niebauer; and five sisters, Elaine Schmidt, Lucille Schmidt, Rita Niebauer, Leona Mangol and Ida Gorman. Viewing will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday, May 26, with Rosary at 6 p.m., both at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 27, at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary, Catholic Church, 7260 S. Sahara Ave. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Donations can be made to the Heart Association or American Lung Association.
