Gerald Parker

January 15, 1926 — December 24, 2011

GERALD PARKER On Christmas Eve, God gave our Mother the greatest gift, our Father, Gerald Stanley Parker, born Jan. 15, 1926 in Alameda, Calif. to Gerald A. and Thelma Parker. He passed away Dec. 24, 2011 in Las Vegas. Stan was raised in Martinez, Calif., and went to Alhambra High School and San Jose State. He served in the U.S. Navy as a pharmacist mate and served in World War II. He moved to Las Vegas in 1970 and worked for Safeway in Boulder City for 20 years until retirement in 1990. Our Dad loved music of all kinds, traveling by RV and taking many wonderful cruises. He was preceded in death by his wife, of 58 years, Gloria. He is survived by daughters, Noni and Richard Kaylor, Laurie Parker and son, Gary Parker; his loving grandkids who will miss him dearly, Allison and Robert MacDonald, Ryan, Danielle and Christopher Parker; and great-grandchildren, Trevor, Matthew, Amelia, Miranda and Paige. Stanley had many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and long time friends across the country who will miss his funny jokes and LONG stories. He was truly one of a kind and will always ask the question "what-it-is". Stan the Man, Rest in Peace. You will be in our hearts for ever. Viewing will be 5-9 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 12, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Services will be at noon, Friday, Jan. 13, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.
