Geraldine "Jerry" Paige Sharpe

With much sadness, we announce the death of Geraldine "Jerry" Sharpe of Las Vegas, Nevada. Jerry was born on January 11, 1924 in Los Angeles, California. She passed away on January 6, 2021 five days short of her 97th birthday.
She was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Edith Chandler, her husband Gordon, daughter-in-law Frances Sharpe, son Gordon, Jr. and grandson James Menzel.
She is survived by: her son, John Sharpe, Sr. of Fort Worth, Texas; her daughter Dianna Menzel (Jim) of Las Vegas, Nevada: her grandchildren Kirk Sharpe, Rachele Barrett (Rafael) of Las Vegas. NV, John Sharpe, Jr (Dawn) of Apple Valley, CA, David Mesinar (Sydra) of Springdale, AR, Dennis Mesinar (Michelle) of Springville, UT, Heather Love (Jay) of Cherryhill, NJ and Jason Menzel (Jenifer) of San Antonio, TX. Her great grandchildren Hunter and Sierra Sharpe, Arabella, Asher, and Angelo Barrett of Las Vegas, NV, Austin Barrett of Bangor, WA, Madyson, Chandler, Chason, Faith, Lincoln, Grayce and Journey Mesinar of Springdale, AR, Brayden, Lauren, and Peyten Mesinar of Springville, UT and Regan and Reese Menzel of San Antonio, TX.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 3rd 2021 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PN at the Bunkers Chapel (925 Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89101). A funeral service will be held at 12:30 following the viewing. Burial will be at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery (1500 N Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89101). Due to Covid restrictions, attendance will be by invitation only. The funeral service will be live streamed. Contact Dianna to make arrangements for the live viewing.
Jerry Sharpe was born in Los Angeles, CA and moved to St. Thomas, NV at the age of 6. When St. Thomas was flooded she moved to Whitney for a short time then finally settled in N. Las Vegas. On her 18th birthday she married Gordon Sharpe. They were married two weeks short of 45 years when Gordon passed away.
Jerry's greatest asset was her ability to make you feel welcomed and loved. She was known as "Mom" to most.
Her main past times during her later years were needlepoint, reading, jig-saw puzzles and Rummikub. Each member of her family and close friends received a few holiday needlepoint baskets filled with goodies every year.
She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
