MSGT. GLENN DEVOGE U.S. Army, Retired Glenn Robert DeVoge, 91, of Wellington, Colo., passed away Oct. 30, 2015. He was born Nov. 16, 1923, to Robert Arlen DeVoge and Gladys Artimecia Smith, in Oak Creek, Colo. Glenn was preceded in death by his beloved wife, of 57 years, Joy Iva Stevens; sister, Arlene Gay DeVoge; and brother, William Edward DeVoge. He is survived by his brother, Kenneth Marvin DeVoge of St. George, Utah; children, Arlene Gay DeVoge Matlock of Wellington, Glenn Marvin DeVoge of Las Vegas, Clifford Arlen DeVoge of Las Vegas, and Twila Joyce DeVoge Friel of Mooresville, Ind. He was known as "Cowboy Grandpa" to his 20 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and friends because Glenn "never met a stranger." He will be missed by all who met and loved him. A 20-year veterans of the U.S. Army 242nd Rainbow Division, Glenn served his country with honor during World War II in Africa and Europe, the Korean War and the Army Reserves. Glenn worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 42 years in the Las Vegas area, where he resided from the 1940's until 2013, when he returned to his home state of Colorado.
