Gliceria Liz Gregorio

Gliceria Luz Gregorio, 88, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Dec. 21, 1928, and raised in Pasuquin, Illocos Norte, Philippines, the daughter of the late Apolinar P. Luz and the late Rosario T. Luna. She was a beloved sister of the late Venancio L. Luz (Marilyn), Milagros L. Ortigas (Eddie), Virginia L. Rodriguez (David), Mercedes L. Cambal (Dominador) and the late Rodolfo L. Luz (Adel). She is survived by three children, Mary Francis Gregorio, Sr. Rosemarie Gregorio of Immaculate Heart of Mary, and Gregory Paul Gregorio; as well as many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, all of whom brought great joy to her. She was a dedicated student in her early years. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Home Economics at Philippine Normal College. She taught elementary education for over a decade. She married the love of her life, the late Dr. Artemio O. Gregorio June 19, 1958. They both emigrated from the Philippines in 1959 to pursue higher levels of education and their careers. Artemio became a successful General Surgeon in Long Island, N.Y. Gliceria earned her Master's Degree in Nutrition at Columbia University in New York City, N.Y., and became a Registered Dietician. Although Gliceria had many accomplishments, she will be remembered by her beauty, grace, charm and strength. Her life brought us the gift of love and the importance of family. We will miss her sweet smile and warm embrace. We will miss her forever. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2575 W. El Campo Grande Ave., North Las Vegas, NV 89031. Burial following at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road, Las Vegas, NV 89129.
