Grace Newell

Grace Newell, 103, passed Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at Nathan Adelson Hospice. She was born Grace Church Oct. 9, 1911, in Pinehurst, Idaho, to Almon Frederic and Elmora Heavrin Church. Grace was the sixth of 12 children and grew up on the family homestead in Dry Buck Creek, Idaho. She married D.L. "Buck" Newell in 1936 and had three children, Alta, Jean and Rex, while living in Idaho. The family moved to Henderson in 1952, where she spent the rest of her life. She is survived by her daughter, Alta; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She loved her family above all else and was greatly loved and respected in return. Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N.
