Guillermo Cruz

June 26, 1935 — November 29, 2015

GUILLERMO CRUZ , 80,  beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed from this Earth to a better place on Sunday November 29, 2015.  Guillermo was born in Williams, Arizona and was raised in Flagstaff, Arizona as the baby boy of a large and loving  family. He joined the Air Force at a young age.  He was stationed in Harlingen, Texas when he met and married the love of his life, Margarita Camano Cruz.  They were happily married for 57 years before she left to walk with angels.  He loved to travel with her by his side visiting with family and enjoying nature's beauty. Guillermo had a passion for many things, not the least of which was his family and his country.  He retired from the Air Force to work full time as a Police Officer with the Clark County School District. He held a special place in his heart for the kids he protected and mentored at Basic High School in Henderson, Nevada.      Guillermo is now at rest with his Lord and has been reunited with his Beloved wife and his son, Guillermo Cruz Jr.; parents, Francisco and Genoveva Cruz and many brothers and sisters . He is survived by two sisters; Guadalupe Lopez and Arcelia Aginiga; three daughters; Genevieve Cruz-Ramirez, Margarita Dalley and Christina Cruz Sandoval; grandchildren, Christina Marie, Benjaman, Erica, Nicholas, Nikko, Alicia, Austin and Isabella; he also was blessed with eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Haileigh, Jovani, Bradley, Aurora, Lilith, EvaMarie and Caroline.   Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Friday December 4 at Christ the King Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive, Las Vegas. Viewing will be 4-8 p.m,  Friday December 4, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N., Las Vegas, NV 89101. Burial will be Tuesday December 8, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City. He influenced the lives of many people with his smile, kind words and generosity. He had a great sense of humor.  Guillermo was a special soul and will greatly be missed by anyone whose life he touched.
