Harlene Shapiro, 89, passed away on May 3, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was born in Newark, New Jersey to Mitchell and Fanny Meiman on January 14, 1932. Beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Harlene will be greatly missed.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 51 years, Sidney Shapiro, and her sister, Denise (Stanley) Liebowitz
Harlene is survived by her three children, whom she loved dearly; Michael, Jeffrey (Marianne), and Mindy (Nathan) Goddard. She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren; Emily and Kelly Shapiro, Kevin and Carly Shapiro, and Faith and Paige Goddard. Harlene is also survived by her first great-grandchild, Luca Shapiro.
Harlene was a professional bookkeeper until her retirement but her true love and passion was her family and friends. She enjoyed the pleasure of a good book, bingo and sharing meals and conversation with friends. Regular phone calls with her cousin Roslyn Solky and all the Salzmans were highlights of her days as was the special bond she shared with her treasured friends, Harriet and Charlotte.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on May 21st at Bunkers Memory Gardens, 7251 West Lone Mountain Road, Las Vegas, Nevada.
