Harvey Delbert Talbert, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away March 22, 2012, at the age of 70. Harvey is survived by his loving wife, Modell; son, James Talbert (Melissa); daughters, Margie Coffman (David) and Lena Markle (Jeffrey); grandchildren, Jake and Audra Coffman, Brayden and Sophia Markle; nephews, Vernon Shark (Peggy), Steve Shark (Trish), and Jeff Shark (Dodee); and sister-in-law, Gale Shark. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Marjorie Talbert; and his brothers, James and Patrick Talbert. Harvey was born March 10, 1942, in Imperial, Calif., and graduated from Yuma Union High School in Yuma, Ariz. in 1960. He served his country in the U.S. Navy for eight years, including four tours in Vietnam, aboard the USS Coral Sea CVA-43, the USS Cochrane DDG-21, and the USS Hanson DD-832. He also served 20 years as a member of the Nevada National Guard. Harvey has been a resident of Las Vegas since 1972, and he worked for the General Services Administration from 1975 until his retirement in 1997. Harvey also has been a member of Sunrise Baptist Church for 40 years. Harvey was a hunter, fisherman, mechanic, electrician, carpenter, political commentator, philosopher, and jack-of-all-trade, his passing will affect the lives of all those he touched. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at Sunrise Baptist Church, 1780 Betty Lane, Las Vegas.
