Hillman DeMille "H.D." Gifford, 84, of Las Vegas, passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014. He was born Oct. 29, 1929, to Mary Noma DeMille Gifford and Jesse Gifford, in Hurricane, Utah. H.D. served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a retired landscaper, leather store owner, fireman and lathe operator. He married Helen Olsen Dec. 22, 1955, in the St. George LDS Temple. H.D. was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, July 10, 1988. He is survived by his daughter, Marianne (nee Gifford) Lang and her husband, Richard Lang, of Las Vegas; sons, Jerald Gifford of Issaquah, Wash., and Michael Gifford, and his wife, Deborah, of Las Vegas; brothers, Marlin Gifford and Will Jennings, both of Hurricane; sister, Anna Sant of Hurricane; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Memorial services will be at noon Saturday, Feb. 1, at the LDS Chapel, 10070 Azure, Las Vegas, NV 89149.
