Howard William Spendlove, 80, passed away Jan. 3, 2015. He was born in Hurricane, Utah, and resided in North Las Vegas for 62 years. He was retired from Local 631. He also worked as a security guard at the Royal Americana, International Hotel where he escorted Elvis Presley to and from the stage, drove trucks for IML and a schoolbus for handicap children, which he loved. He loved camping, fishing and hunting, but his passion was flying. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, of 54 years, who he married in the Temple in 2003; granddaughter, Valerie (nee Oram) Clark; and great-grandson, Travis Davis. He is survived by children, Cynthia Smith, Virginia Steinbach, Bill Spendlove and Jean Raabe; grandchildren, Jennifer, Sheila, Peter, Wendy, Roger, Tina, Carie, Katie, Megan, Freedom, Melodee; great-grandchildren, Tennessa, Franklyn, Emily, Johnathan, Shelby, Rebecca, Roxanne, Jake, Samantha, Hannah, Brian, Vennasa, Zach, Kevin, Nicholas, Roger, Danielle, Gambit, Evya, Audrey, Iian, Emmah, Harley, Raylan, Gage; great-great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Leah; and sisters, Gwen Cannon, Kathy Peterson. Viewing will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Family viewing will be 11 a.m.-noon Friday, Jan. 16, with services following, both at LDS Chapel, 2401 E. Tonopah Ave., North Las Vegas (Tonopah and Civic Center). Burial at Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
