James "Jim" Corwin Hinshaw peacefully transitioned Jan. 25, 2014. A 25-year resident of Las Vegas, Jim was born Jan. 29, 1940, in Pasadena, Calif. The CEO of JCH Wire and Cable, Jim was part of the electrical distribution industry for over 50 years, beginning with service in the U.S. Army Signal Corps as a telephone lineman. He went on to own two companies, Northern Wire and Cable in Michigan and JCH Wire and Cable in North Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Hinshaw and Ellen Blachley. Jim is survived by his wife, of 38 years, Gail (nee Sine); three daughters, Mary Mimura and Susan McNeill, both of California, and Jody Ashton; five grandchildren, JR, Jake, Kimi, Tami and Dean; two brothers, Ken and Richard, both of California. Jim is also survived by his constant four-legged companion Casper, whom Jim adored. Viewing will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, with services following, both at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission.
