James Richard Smith, of Las Vegas, passed away Dec. 21, 2013, in his sleep at his home. Born in Baker, Calif., Aug. 13, 1952, Jim led a full life working as a Union tradesman painter and taper, was an avid hunter, fisherman, gun enthusiast and family man. Jim had his adoring wife of 28 years, Kelly Smith, at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Prince and Jan Smith; as well as his son-in-law, Robert Pearson. He is survived by his wife; and their four children, Rebecca Pearson, Karli, Amber and Steven Smith; along with his daughter-in-law, Lori Smith; their five grandchildren, Robert James Pearson (alongside his wife, Sandra Pearson and great-grandson on the way, Robert James Pearson Jr.), Indica Rayne and Genevieve Irelynn Rivera, Savannah and Brandon Smith; his siblings, Kate Cassidy, Christy Vergith, Margaret Masanz, Marie Hansen and John Smith; his mother-in-law, Darby Orange; and numerous nieces and nephews.
