He bowled a 290 game and two 300 games, one of them being the first ever 300 game at Sam's Town Bowling Center. Jim found his second passion, golf. He was a member and shareholder at Black Mountain Golf and Country Club, where he made many life-long friends. One of his happiest golf moments was making a hole in one on Horizon #8. After retiring, he and Mariann moved to Kingman, Ariz., where they lived and played at Vista Valley Golf Course, making more life-long friends. A few years later, they returned to Las Vegas to be close to family and friends.
