JIM STEPHENS Jimmy G. Stephens, "Jim," 76, a resident of Goodsprings, passed away peacefully Dec. 1, 2014, at his home in Goodsprings. He was born Oct. 20, 1938, in Las Vegas. Jim was married to Peggy Russell June 18, 1967, in Goodsprings. Jim worked for over 40 years with the Genstar Lime Company as a mobile mechanic he was also the Constable of Goodspings in the 1960's. He enjoyed working on his vehicles and driving them fast when he was young. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He had a green thumb, he loved gardening and planting trees. Jim lived a long life and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar G. Stephens and Christine B. (nee Hammons) Stephens. He was survived by his wife, of 47 years, Peggy Stephens; four children, Stephanie Stephens, Jay Stephens, Lucy Stephens and Harry Meras (Tami); six grandchildren, Jarad, Jacob, Grace, Alysha, Tyler and Sam; one sister and four brothers, Carol, John Michael (Janice), Edward (Gaylene), David and Joseph (Sherri); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Viewing will be 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N., Las Vegas. Church services will be at 1:30 Sunday, Dec 14, at the Goodsprings Community Church, 480 San Pedro Ave. Burial will follow at the Goodsprings Cemetery. There will be a family and friends gathering at the Goodsprings Community Center following the burial.
