John William Krause

September 15, 1983 — December 2, 2014

John William Krause passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Dec. 2, 2014, in his home, at the age of 31. A Las Vegas resident, John graduated at Lower Lake High, in Clearlake, Calif. He attended Clark County Community College Las Vegas. John was employed as a bartender and well known in Las Vegas. He had a passion for his job. He always would lend an ear to listen to his patrons in their time of need and always managed to make them smile. He also was a train engineer for the Pacific Railroad in Las Vegas, and was a turbine mechanic in Alaska. John was an intellectually young man. He loved to challenge anyone who would listen to become critical thinkers. At a young age, John even saved the life of one of his sisters best friends on a rafting trip. He was a true Hero to his family and a Big Brother to his sister. During his return to Las Vegas, John purchased his pride and joy was his 2005 Ford GT Mustang he nicknamed Eleanor. John loved many activities such as bowling, fishing, camping, and going to the beach with his dogs. He loved playing softball, attending Oakland's playoff games with his father, playing rock band and other video games, fantasy football, and spent time with family and friends. John leaves behind a father and best friend, William Krause; stepmother, Angela Krause; girlfriend, Monica Troy; his dogs, Duke and Lady; mother, Elizabeth Carrigan; sister, Kara; stepbrother, David (Britney); grandson, "Little David"; stepbrother, Spc Aaron Marshall; stepsister, Misty (Chris); uncle, John (Deb); aunt, Shirley; cousins, Ronnie and Robbie; along with many other relatives. Of those who were fortunate enough to know John and his sense of humor and kindness, he will be loved, missed and remembered for all of the things that made him special by his family, friends and his wishes for a better world. Viewing will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12. There will be a second viewing 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, followed by services, all at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. May he rest in peace and watch over us.
